After Effects

After Effects file

The After Effects script (.jsx) imports the video, camera, and nulls into After Effects. In After Effects, nulls are used instead of the scan and must be created manually.

Export the .jsx file

  1. In Export OptionsThird-party, enable AE (After Effects).
  2. By default, geometry has no anchors (nulls), so you’ll see 0 anchors. To add them, tap the "0 anchors" button.
  3. In the opened geometry view, tap on the geometry to place the nulls. To remove a null, tap on it again.
  4. Tap Back (top left).
  5. Finally, tap Export.
note

If you selected multiple shots, use Next/Previous to navigate geometries. On the last one, tap Completed.

Use the .jsx file in After Effects

  1. Open After Effects.
  2. In the top-left menu, go to FileScriptsRun Script File....
  3. Select the .jsx file you’ve exported.

After performing these steps, four items will be added to your After Effects project:

  • Comp_3D+Plate: This composition includes the camera, nulls and the video footage.
  • The video: This is the original footage associated with the shot.
  • Solids: This folder contains the nulls.
Auto-naming

When a specific type of surface is identified, the system automatically assigns a default name to any associated nulls. Applicable surface types include:

  • Ceiling
  • Door
  • Floor
  • Seat
  • Table
  • Wall
  • Window
